How to install Wi-Fi boosters?

Have you received the Wi-Fi boosters from BASE? Then you can get started on the installation. In a few moments, you will have Wi-Fi throughout your home!

You can do it!

You can easily install the Deco X60 from TP-Link yourself via the Deco app. It provides step-by-step instructions to help you install the Wi-Fi boosters. Feeling uncertain? We're happy to walk you through it.

Before you begin...

Important information

Before you begin with the installation, first switch off your BASE modem's Wi-Fi. If you don't, you will have two networks in your home, and some devices may not connect to the Wi-Fi booster! Go to My BASE or the My BASE app and select: Your modem > Settings > Switch off Wi-Fi.

If you don't have the Deco app yet, first download it from Google Play or the App Store. Make sure you have the latest version of the app! After installation, it allows you to manage your Wi-Fi boosters.

Let's get started!

The Deco app guides you through the entire installation. For this, you do need an account with TP-Link. If you don't have one yet, you can create one in the app.

Click Don't have an account? on the login screen when opening the app.
Select X60 when you are asked which model of the Deco you have. This is the one you are going to install.
Follow the steps in the app.

In some steps, the app will ask you to set or fill in something. So pay attention in the following steps:

Under Connecting your Deco to the internet, the app asks you to make some settings. Leave these as shown here:

In the next step, enter a name for your booster's Wi-Fi network. Note that this is not the same name as your BASE modem's network. It's best to give it a different name to avoid confusion.
Under Add more Decos, you can connect your second Wi-Fi booster. Place it in the room where you want more Wi-Fi coverage. The device will be added automatically within two minutes. You can also add Wi-Fi boosters later.

Adding another Wi-Fi booster

Do you already have a wifi booster, and now you want to expand your network with an additional device? You can, and it's easy!

Open the Deco app and go to the Network tab.
Click + in the upper-right corner of the page and select Add Deco.
Select model X60, and follow the instructions in the app.

What about after the installation?

Hooray, you have installed the BASE Wi-Fi boosters! But what now?

Now you can enjoy a fast, smooth connection throughout your home. If you want to personalize your Wi-Fi experience even more, you can do so via the Deco app. You can set parental controls, manage the access to or security of your devices and much more! You can find more info on TP-Link's website.
