Frequently asked questions about your PIN and PUK code

Lost your PIN code? Looking for you PUK code? Discover where you can find your PIN and PUK code, and how you can change your PIN.

  • The PIN code is a 4-digit number (e.g. 1234) that gives you acces to your phone. It's requested everytime you switch on your phone.
  • The PUK code is a 8-digit number (e.g. 12345678) and is useful when your phone is blocked.

You can find the original PIN and PUK code on the packaging of the SIM card, in My BASE, and in the My BASE app.

On the packaging on your SIM card
In My BASE
  • Click on Mobile under Manage your products.
  • Click on the tile Your SIM card.
  • You'll find the PIN and PUK under Information about your SIM card.
In the My BASE app

You can only find the PUK code in the My BASE app. Look at the packaging or in My BASE to find the PIN.

  • Select your mobile phone number under Your products.
  • Click on SIM card details under SIM card.

Have you ever changed your PIN code? You can't find it in the app. Have you lost your PIN? No problem! Find out more in 'How to change your PIN code'.

Good to know: have you traded your physical SIM card for an eSIM? In that case you will see the old PIN and PUK codes as well as the new ones. When the switch is complete, you will see the details of your new eSIM.

Which situation applies to you?

"I know my PIN code, but I want to change it."
  • Use the phone function of your smartphone and type in this code: * * 04 * [oude pincode] * [nieuwe pincode] * [nieuwe pincode] #
  • Push call and your PIN code willbe changed.
"I have lost my PIN code and I want to change it."
  • Enter three times to wrong PIN code on your phone.
  • Your phone will ask the PUK. Enter the 8-digit code to unlock your phone.
  • Follow the steps to create a new PIN code

Remove your SIM card  from your handset for a moment and then put it back in it.  

Same problem?

Perhaps you already entered an incorrect PUK code 10 times? Then you will get the message 'SIM card rejected'. In this case, it means that we have locked your SIM card to protect your handset and your personal data. This also means that your SIM card is not usable anymore.

Buy a new eSIM card

In My BASE:

  • Click on Mobile under Manage your products.
  • Click on New eSIM Card 

In de My BASE-app:

  • Select your mobile phone number under Your products.
  • Click on SIM card details under SIM card.
  • Click on Replace your SIM card.
