What's the e-invoicing with Peppol?

Starting from January 1, 2026, the Belgian government will require businesses to send and receive all invoices electronically via the Peppol network. This new measure will apply to all businesses with a Belgian VAT number. Do you have a foreign VAT number? In this case, electronic invoicing is not mandatory.

Good to know

We are currently preparing for the switch to e-invoicing. Have you already registered with Peppol? Then you're all set to receive your invoice as an e-invoice.

We will let you know as soon as we are ready! Until then, you will continue to receive your invoice as usual.

What is an electronic invoice?

An electronic invoice is an invoice issued in a legally predetermined format. This ensures that invoices in this format can be sent automatically via Peppol. Upon receipt, an electronic invoice can be immediately read and processed by compatible invoicing software on your computer.

Important
Invoices shared as PDF documents are not considered electronic invoices.

What is Peppol?

Peppol (Pan-European Public Procurement Online) is the network that allows businesses to exchange electronic invoices. Every Belgian VAT-registered business must sign up for Peppol. This is the only way to send and receive electronic invoices.
