Problems with the BASE TV app/website?

Is the BASE TV app or website no longer working? Then resolve this quickly using the tips below.

Close and restart the app/website

Close the BASE TV app completely by swiping it away on your mobile device or tablet. Then restart the app.

Close the BASE TV website and also close the web browser completely. Then open your browser again and go to BASE.tv.

Check your internet connection

  • Is your device connected to the internet?
  • Do you have a good internet connection (minimum 2 Mbps)?
  • Is your smartphone or tablet's airplane mode on?
  • Is the mobile data option ticked (if there is no Wi-Fi connection)? Go to Settings and App preferences
    Note: both the mobile data option in the app and your device's mobile data must be on.

Check your software and hardware versions

  • Make sure your smartphone/tablet has the right software:
    • Android: version 6.0 or later
    • Apple: iOS 12.1 or later

Download the app again

  • Remove the app, then download and install it again.
  • Make sure you're using the latest version of the app. Also make sure your device has the latest operating system (see previous step).

Is your device rooted or jailbroken?

  • Some smartphones and tablets are rooted/jailbroken when you buy them (especially cheaper ones). This means that the software restrictions set by the manufacturer have been removed. In that case, you get an error message and cannot watch TV. 
  • You can check your device via an app (e.g. Root Checker for Android).
  • BASE does not decide which devices and operating systems are supported.
