Moving house? Then look to see exactly what you must do.

Installing internet

The advantage of a self-installation? You decide where, when and what you install. Super-convenient, right? We deliver your devices to your home, and then you're ready to install everything!

If you order BASE internet online, by phone or at a BASE Shop, we will check whether we can connect your address. If your address can be connected but an intervention from a technician is necessary, we will send someone to take care of it at no charge! Otherwise you can simply take care of everything yourself!

  • Be sure to check whether you already have a network interface unit (NIU). You have to have one to do a self-install. Don't have one? Then book an appointment with a technician. They will visit you to take care of it. Then it's up to you!

Sit back and relax. Our technician will do the work for you. Here's a quick rundown of exactly what they will do.

Tip: Consider ahead of time how you plan to use your services in your home. Then it's best to prepare the indoor installation. Be sure to also provide a coax cable and UTP cable. This will ensure that our technician can install your services in a flash.

The technician will...
  • install your modem and network interface unit (NIU)
  • connect the drop cable and coax cable to the NIU
  • check the coax cables and installed wall sockets, and replace the wall sockets if necessary
  • test the speed of your internet connection at your modem
  • test the speed of your internet connection at your TV installation
  • install the BASE TV box (if you opted for this)
  • install the BASE wifi boosters (if you opted for these)
Goed om te weten
  • The distance between the modem and NIU may not exceed two metres. Ideally, they should be located as close to each other as possible.
  • The technician will install up to four UTP cables, up to 25 metres long each, where needed. Do you want more? Then you can provide the extra UTP cables yourself.
