How to register your own modem?

Step 1: Connect the BASE modem

If you are a new customer or moving as an existing customer, always connect the BASE modem first. This activates the products and allows us to check that everything is working properly. After that, you can switch to your own modem. Please make sure to install the most recent software update first.

If you are already a customer and your BASE modem is already connected, you can go straight to step 2!

Step 2: Register your BASE modem

It is important to us that you can surf without worries. Therefore, your own modem must meet certain requirements.

  • Please fill out the registration form before using your own modem.
  • We will then add the information about your modem to our network database.
Step 3: We call you

Once you have registered your own modem, we will call you within five working days to ask whether we may proceed with the activation of your own modem. If we are unable to reach you, we will simply call again later. Until that time, your BASE modem will remain active and you can continue to access the internet.

Important

If you have problems with your own modem, contact the company you bought it from for help. BASE cannot provide you with any additional support.

What about your old BASE modem?

Please keep it in a safe place. That way, if you ever have technical problems, we can check whether your own modem is the cause. So, do not return your BASE modem, and do not take it to the recycling centre.

What if you later decide to switch back to your BASE modem? Or register a different modem of your own? No problem! You simply fill out the same registration form to change your modem again.
