Do you have an existing internet subscription, and are you surfing via a BASE modem? Then you can choose which equipment you use. Specifically, you can use your own modem to connect to our network.
Besides the BASE modem, you can also use your own modem. Below we list a number of modems that are compatible with docsis 3.1 and our conditions. Please note, this list is not complete.
The list below is only an indication of possible conformance to minimum docsis specifications required, and is not a guarantee that these products are sufficient in hardware/software aspects. For definitive and full requirements refer to DOCSIS (BASE) below Technical specifications. The manufacturers need to confirm they meet all mandatory requirements and interop aspects
If you are a new customer or moving as an existing customer, always connect the BASE modem first. This activates the products and allows us to check that everything is working properly. After that, you can switch to your own modem. Please make sure to install the most recent software update first.
If you are already a customer and your BASE modem is already connected, you can go straight to step 2!
It is important to us that you can surf without worries. Therefore, your own modem must meet certain requirements.
Once you have registered your own modem, we will call you within five working days to ask whether we may proceed with the activation of your own modem. If we are unable to reach you, we will simply call again later. Until that time, your BASE modem will remain active and you can continue to access the internet.
Important
If you have problems with your own modem, contact the company you bought it from for help. BASE cannot provide you with any additional support.
Please keep it in a safe place. That way, if you ever have technical problems, we can check whether your own modem is the cause. So, do not return your BASE modem, and do not take it to the recycling centre.
What if you later decide to switch back to your BASE modem? Or register a different modem of your own? No problem! You simply fill out the same registration form to change your modem again.
